Cubature formulae that are exact for trigonometric polynomials

Abstract

This paper contains results on the approximate evaluation of integrals \[ I(f) = \frac{1}{\hbox{mes } \Omega} \int_\Omega f(x)w(x) \: dx \] by cubature formulae that are exact for trigonometric polynomials. Its contents corresponds to talks given by Prof. I.P. Mysovskikh in June 2000 at Universit\"at Erlangen-N\"urnberg (Germany), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and at University Dortmund (Germany).
