A relation between orthogonal rational functions on the unit circle and the interval [-1,1]
Abstract
In his famous book on orthogonal polynomials (OP), Szego gave a relation between OP on the unit circle and OP on the interval [-1,1] by use of a simple projection. The aim of this note is to show that this can be extended to orthogonal rational functions (ORF). The poles of the ORF on the unit circle and the poles of the ORF on the interval are real and outside the interval [-1,1].
